Nightingale is skilled in martial arts and various forms of personal combat. Her exact skill level is as yet untested. He also is a skilled technician, and he is very intelligent and perceptive.

Powers:
Nightingale has shown the ability to transform into a strange luminescent white mist. In this mist form, she seems impervious to physical harm, with even fireballs passing right through her. She has also shown herself capable of glowing, though it is not a significant amount. She also rapidly heals, having healed a broken arm in the space of days. Lastly, she possesses occasional precognitive dreams sent to him/her by Khufu.

Nightingale possesses the strength of a normal man who engages in frequent exercise.

History:
Qamar's birth was a difficult one, and his mother died in childbirth. His father never remarried, and Qamar grew up in Cairo mostly alone, as his father was often busy with his professional work as a surgeon. He was raised Muslim, but as time went on, he found himself believing less and less.

While he was in his first year of college, Qamar's father was killed by a suicide bomber. Filled with anger, Qamar went to seek out the organization behind his father's death, and he was captured and
brutally tortured. He was eventually shot in the head, though he did not die immediately. He was left in the desert to bleed out. Qamar crawled for help, and found a lost temple of Khufu. He died in the shadow of the statue of that ancient moon god.

Khufu chose Qamar, however, as his new warrior. Granted special abilities and restored to life, Qamar became a new Moon Knight. Taking a costume, he sought out those who had killed him, and brought them to justice. Due to his slight frame, however, many of the terrorists mistook him for a woman. Deciding to use this to his advantage, he developed a feminine costume, knowing that his enemies would never suspect a man was the superhero Nightingale.

After several months of battling terrorists in the Middle East, Qamar traveled to the United States as an exchange student. As Nightingale, she attempted to stop two villains, though both got away. After encountering the Avengers at a museum heist, she joined forces with the team, and became an ally to the group as well as a provisional member. As Qamar, he met Sammy Fury through college classes and quickly developed a friendship with her. Though each had a romantic interest in the other, Sammy's interest was also piqued by Qamar's mysterious past, particularly as she came to realize a connection between Qamar and Nightingale. Qamar, wary about sharing his identity with anyone, and also concerned what his potential girlfriend might think of his secret, claimed merely to be Nightingale's technician, saying that she rescued him from the terrorist cell.

However, when Sammy was brainwashed, Nightingale helped rescue her. During the ensuing struggle, Nightingale was unmasked, and Sammy saw his face. After her brainwashing was undone, Qamar went to Sammy to explain himself. Seeing how badly he had hurt her, he made the decision to unmask before the entire team. As a result of this conversation, however, both Sammy and Qamar believed the other had broken up with them -- Sammy because she felt guilty about her actions while brainwashed, and Qamar because of the Nightingale revelation. To further complicate issues, Emily Banner was smitten by Qamar and flirting with him in front of Sammy; Sammy thought Emily and Qamar were dating, while Qamar was unaware of any of it. Eventually, Qamar and Sammy had an argument in which they realized they hadn't broken up, and Qamar wasn't dating Emily. The two resumed dating at this point.

He later discovered that Marc Specter had a number of problems with insanity, including multiple personalities. This has challenged his faith in his god, and he is concerned that Nightingale may be becoming someone that he is not.

On a recent date with Sammy, Qamar admitted he loved Sammy (while surrounded by unconscious and badly-beaten muggers). Sammy reciprocated the feelings.

Personality:
Qamar is quirky, friendly, and sometimes behaves a smidge neurotically... though that is in part an act, so that people will think of him as harmless. In truth, he's always acted a little like that, though he's exaggerated it somewhat since becoming Nightingale. He cares very deeply for Sammy Fury.

As Nightingale, his personality seems to shift drastically. Nightingale is cool, quiet, aloof, cold, and mysterious.
